motherboard: Fic VA503+
because it's cheap, supports ATX or AT, and has 1MB L2 cache
processor: Cyrix MX something 333 underclocked to 200MHz
It was cheap, and I'd never used a cyrix chip.
It'll be replaced with an intel 200MHz pentium MMX chip for power
and heat reduction (that cyrix chip gets hot and is dog slow)
sound card: ESS 1371-based PCI sound card
Inexpensive, and has dual DACs, which makes it essentially 2 sound
cards. That allows the surround processor to work
networking: Relisys RTL-8139-based 10/100 Ethernet
realtec cards are prety cheap, and it's 100Mbit capable
video: 2MB cirrus-based VGA adaptor (PCI)
I don't really need a monitor at all, but it makes debugging easier.
hard drive: old Seagate 2GB IDE medalist?
I had it laying around. |
