processor:      Cyrix MX something 333 underclocked to 200MHz
        It was cheap, and I'd never used a cyrix chip.
        It'll be replaced with an intel 200MHz pentium MMX chip for power
        and heat reduction (that cyrix chip gets hot and is dog slow)
sound card:     ESS 1371-based PCI sound card
        Inexpensive, and has dual DACs, which makes it essentially 2 sound
        cards.  That allows the surround processor to work
networking:     Relisys RTL-8139-based 10/100 Ethernet
        realtec cards are prety cheap, and it's 100Mbit capable
video:          2MB cirrus-based VGA adaptor (PCI)
        I don't really need a monitor at all, but it makes debugging easier.
hard drive:     old Seagate 2GB IDE medalist?
