(Answer) (Category) Products of Aardvarks With Chisels :
Why doesn't that image match the background?
Because either my browser or your browser is screwy. I think it's yours. I made the image with a background color of 0xE6E2D5, and I told the web page to make the BGCOLOR the same thing. On Netscape/Linux it looks fine. I've noticed that Netscape/Windows (some versions) seems to either decode the jpeg wrong or render the page wrong. One is wrong, because they should both be the same.

I'm considering going to a png as the main image, but then I lose some old browser support - and I don't wanna do that. Also, png rendering is even buggier than jpeg rendering in many browsers - so the problem would prolly just get worse. This sucks, because png is realy a cool format, and should have completely taken over the gif area by now. But I'll stop ranting aobut that. It has very little to do with the answer to your question, which is: "Your browser is broken."
